Board of Secondary Education Karachi Sindh is responsible to conduct matric level annual and supply exams in the city of Karachi. Karachi is the most populous city of Pakistan which makes it impossible for a single board to conduct the SSC and HSSC level exams. Due to this reason, secondary and intermediate level exams are held in Karachi by separate boards and BSEK has the responsibility for conducting SSC part 1 & 2 exams in this metropolitan city.

9th and 10th class annual exams are conducted by BSEK simultaneously throughout Karachi during the months of March and April every year. Thousands of regular and private students participate in these matric level exams under BSEK as almost all the public and private schools in Karachi are affiliated with BSEK. Written papers are held in March while practical papers are conducted by the board in April.

After two or three months, the results of 9th and 10th class annual exams are issued by secondary board Karachi for all the students of SSC part 1 & 2. These results are announced in June or July. Soon after the announcement, the results are uploaded at the official site of the board. Just before the result announcement, the names of position holder students are also issued by the board. The students of 9th and 10th class receive their result cards at their mentioned addresses just few days after the result announcement.

Apart from the annual exams, the results of supply exams also known as improvement exam or 2nd annual are announced couple of months after the supply exams of matric class.
